Helen was awarded the title at The Inspiration Awards for Women. Among the other nominees were Keira Knightley, Yasmin Le Bon and Agyness Deyn.
Helen was quoted by the Telegraph as saying: "I appreciate beauty, and I know I'm not beautiful, so I know it's not to do with that. I appreciate overt gorgeousness, sexiness - like the Marilyn Monroe type of thing - and I know I'm not that, so I don't see it, and I don't get it."

Helen is an Inspiration for Women of all ages. This award is long over due and I for one, appreciate her power to inspire through her passion for life. She has beauty in abundance. It may not be evident to Dame Helen but to women young and old (and men for that matter), it is very clear to us and we honour you. HMAS

What are we going to do about all the grief Helen is giving rape victims? I'm a big fan but I find myself backtracking because of her recent statements
She doesn't see it? That's okay. It's clearly apparent to the rest of the world. To which I say, lucky us! :o)
