"Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you - The Queen!"

With these words, Dame Helen accepted the Academy award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Elizabeth II in Stephen Frear's The Queen.

Third time was indeed a charm as Helen's Oscar win comes after two nominations (for The Madness of King George and Gosford Park) and decades of outstanding performances.
The warmest congratulations from the Helen Mirren Appreciation Society!

a beautiful women who becomes riper with age isnt she. i havent seen the film myself but as i hav seen preveiws for it. she seems to portray the queen very well she paints a clear picture and turns the thoughts on to what may actually happen in the queens life. i think that maybe dame mirren may have already met the queen and seen what is done in buckinham palace.lucky her if she has.dame mirren is a wonderful actress and i think the film is maybe as wonderful as miss mirren is herself.
